A Couple Specks on a Quick Monday Morning Trip

I launched in Fairhope, Alabama around 8 am. It was overcast to start the trip and turned mostly sunny 2 hours later. Wind was barely stirring. It was at the start of a major peak just before hight tide. I missed the start of the falling tide. I caught two speckled trout on white paddletails, missed one of them trying to net it. The one I landed was at the boat launch. I also threw topwater at them and a purple and chartreuse paddletail but those didn’t get any action. I saw herons looking for baitfish and schools of mullet were all around. I hooked up on two other fish but I couldn't get a look at them. They could have been snagged mullet as I was throwing lurers at the schools. I would’ve liked to have stayed longer but I didn’t want to get too tired considering I had a family beach session.
