Multiple Species in Bayou Chico

This was an early morning trip to Bayou Chico in Pensacola, Florida. I fished the perimeter of the bayou East of the bridge. I found a school of small white trout and speckled trout close to the boat launch. It was rare to get an actual hookup but I could literally drop the white paddle tail next to the kayak and I could see multiple strikes just working the lure up and down. The bigger trout were caught at the mouth of the bayou. I measured 3 speckled trout and I missed one that I estimate was around 20”. The theme today was how many fish came off at the kayak or I couldn’t even see them. I think they were blue fish or lady fish as they hit hard and pulled hard for a bit and then shook off.
