Halloween at Heron Bayou in Pensacola, Florida

This was a late afternoon trip to Heron Bayou in Pensacola Florida. The tide didn’t look like it was doing much but the wind was blowing water into the Bayou. I fished from the boat launch to the mouth of the bayou and back. The speckled trout were not in one particular pattern. Some were along the grass beds and some were in the middle of the bayou. I caught one just trolling in the middle. I started with a 4” Slam Shady and switched to a 3” pearl paddletail on the Texas Eye because I wanted to go weedless around the grass beds. I caught 5 speckled trout and most were around the 13-15” range.
